Apr, 2014 ASG Presents Success Story at ICDL Seminar
Under the Patronage of HE Dr. Azzam Sleit, Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Superintendent Mrs. Haifa Najjar attended a seminar on implementing the new ICDL and e-Learner programmes. The seminar presented a series of ICDL success stories in Jordan as a national model for success which has been made possible through partnerships between the government and private sectors. The ICDL program has been implemented in Jordan for 15 years and has significantly contributed to improving and advancing computer literacy and performance as well as digital awareness among Jordanians including public sector employees, private and civil organizations, ministries and official institutions. ASG presented one of its success stories at the seminar as one of the leading IB schools to offer the ICDL program since 2006 to empower students and improve their digital skills. Students expressed that the ICDL certification has greatly improved their computer literacy and in acquiring skills such as organizing online files and reports for their school work, research and presentations. It has also helped them progress on both a practical and scientific level. HE Dr. Azzam Sleit praised the efforts of the European Commission in Amman for its support in the Arab region and the rest of the world. He emphasized the role of the national team in ensuring the quality and piloting of the ICDL program. Superintendent Mrs. Haifa Najjar commented, "Jordan is a source of inspiration in the region and its impact on teachers to raise the technological performance and skills has been reflected in our students." Jordan has played a central role in continued development programs for ICDL in national and education institutions at all stages and continues to have a leading role in computer advancement in the Arab region.
